Last week was quite an emotional week for our family. For the last few years, my grandad Doyle has been ailing with heart issues. Last week he was taken to the hospital because his lungs were filling with fluid. The doctors had thought that he wouldn’t even be able to go home. So, my dad, Cammie and I got in the car Monday night and drove 12 hours straight to Arkansas. Cammie was such a good girl, the only sound she made the entire trip was laughing. The whole trip we were thinking we wouldn’t even be able to see grandad. But, Tuesday morning we got to the hospital and got to see him in the ICU room. It was such an emotional moment for me. My grandad has always been so special to me. He is an interior designer and has VERY expensive taste. His genes were passed down to me! We have always been very close because of our similar interests. So, you can see why this trip meant so much to me. On Wednesday night, they brought him home and got Hospice to come take care of him. The doctors know that he is at the end of his journey here on earth. Grandad knows that he is going home to be with the Lord. Please pray that his last days are peaceful and that my Grandma is comforted.
On Thursday, Carter and Brad drove to Jacksonville, Florida for our friend, Tommy’s wedding. Brad was a groomsman and Carter was the ring bearer. Cammie and I flew from Arkansas to Florida on Friday morning. The wedding was SO beautiful. The ceremony was at a beautiful Catholic church and the reception was at a spanish style yacht club. Carter was definately the cutest little ring bearer EVER!! After the wedding, Brad’s parents and sister took the kids back to the hotel. Brad and I went on a yacht ride with the bride, groom and wedding party. It was such a nice time to visit with friends and view the city. I’m glad I was able to make it to see my boys walk down the aisle!!
