Carter and Cammie have become quiet the best buds. They are always playing with each other and laughing together. Wherever one goes, the other goes! Sometimes that’s not a good thing because they always want what the other is playing with. Right now, the toy that causes the most problems is the walker/rider. Carter used to care less about it but now that Cammie loves it he loves it too! I’ve had to put it up a few times to end the drama. They are never mean about it, they just fuss. Carter is always really sweet with Cammie but sometimes a little too sweet. He loves to hug on her and sometimes ends up smothering her. But, for the most part, they are really good friends.
Yesterday was Cammie’s one year check-up. She weighed in at 24 pounds which was lighter than I had expected. She’s now only in the 87th percentile when she was in the 98th. She is 30.5″ tall and in the 85th percentile for height. So, she’s just a big girl! They had to give her three shots and she barely cried. Carter would still be crying if it were him getting the shots!! The doctor put her on the floor to stand and she took a couple steps towards me because she was afraid I would leave. Those were her first real steps! Kind of funny it was at the Dr’s office! Overall, she is a very healthy and happy baby.
A few weeks ago, my brother and his family were in town. His son Caleb, is two months older than Cammie. Mary Beth, Casey’s wife, made them matching outfits with their monnograms on them. They are SO adorable! We had to buy Carter a coordinating outfit to go with them. During the week that they were here we bought them two more sets of matching outfits to wear on our trip to Hilton Head in September. They look so cute in them!! Someday they will hate us for making them wear the same clothes all the time! Hopefully we will stop making them match by the time they go off to college. That would be kind of be weird wearing matching clothes at Harding!!
Many of you know about Carter’s OBSESSION with electric outlets. It’s kind of crazy and definately a little weird. A few months ago he starting talking about them and looking for them everywhere we would go. He knows not to touch them because he stuck his finger in one and got a little shock. Well, it has overtaken his life! He has a collection of outlets, cords and phone jacks. Lowes has now become his favorite store. You should see him on the electric outlet aisle. It’s like heaven to him! He has always had a few weird interests. But, trains are still at the top of the list which makes me feel like he is a normal kid!
