It’s been a while since I made a post.  We were in Virginia for the whole week of Thanksgiving visiting Brad’s parents and sister.  It was Cammie’s first time to their house.  The trip was long but it was well worth it!  Brad’s parents live in Yorktown the place where we won the battle for our independence as a country.  Pretty historic place!  We had a great time with all the family and all of Brad’s high school buddies.

When we got there on Saturday, Ma and Pa had the house ready for the kids.  Toys and snacks galore!  I know they were so happy to see their grandkids playing in their home.  It’s been too long since we made a trip there.  The kids had so much fun being spoiled!

On Tuesday, Brad and I went up to D.C. to see Amy and bring her back to Virginia with us.  She sold her car since she’s a “city girl” now!  We got to see her cute apartment that is just a few blocks from the White House.  Pretty cool location!  We walked all around D.C. seeing the White House, Capitol Hill, and monuments.  The best thing we saw was the Library of Congress.  I know what you’re all thinking, “Why would Cory, of all people, be so excited about a library??!!”.  Well, it’s not actually the library that was so great, all though it was pretty impressive, it was the grand hall that was amazing.  It was SO beautiful!!  I took several pictures.  That night we had dinner with Brad’s high school buddy Tommy and his wife Sarah.  Tommy will be the president someday so be looking for his name!!

On Wednesday, we went to Colonial Williamsburg.  The kids loved running around the town and going to the old toy store.  We also went to the Yankee Candle Factory Store.  It was HUGE!!  They had candle making, Santa’s village and lots of shopping besides just candles.  It was a very fun day!

Thanksgiving day was very relaxing thanks to Ma cooking all the food!  It was nice to not have to worry about all that!  She made some delicious foods.  Brad’s friend Sean came from Michigan to visit and have Thanksgiving dinner with us.  We watched football, played games, ate and went to the Yorktown beach.

What a wonderful week to relax and have fun!!

There were too many pictures to make a slide show.  Go to this link to see all the fun we had on our trip.  Here it is:

Last weekend Cammie and I made the 9 hour journey to Searcy for Harding’s homecoming.  Ashley and Camp went with us.  You would not believe that both the babies didn’t cry once in the 18 hours we were in the car!  They are little angels!  Thank heaven for dvd players! :)   The trip went by really fast because I had someone to talk to and the fact that I probably drove a little faster than I should have.  Sorry mom, I was careful! :)

My main reason for going was to see all of my college friends.  There were about 18 of us that all got together for lunch on Saturday.  It was crazy how many kids we all have!  They are all such cuties.  Afterwards, we had a baby shower for my good friend Jaren.  This will be her first baby, a little girl named Ellie.  We had a wonderful time and it was funny how we all talked like we had never been apart!  There were a lot of girls that I hadn’t seen since graduating in 2001.  After lunch, we went to the football game and saw lots of fellow classmates.  It was funny to see everyone pushing stollers and dealing with fussy kids.  That evening we went to dinner and had another shower for my friend Amanda.  She is pregnant with her second baby, Will.  Then we went to the Homecoming musical “Wizard of Oz”.  It was a blast!  We are planning to do this every year and I hope I can be there every time.  Thanks to Candice and Bridget for preparing the wonderful meal!!  Thanks to all the girls for making the long trips with babies!  I love you guys!!!

An added bonus to the trip was that I got to spend time with family.  We stayed at my grandparents house while we were there.  My aunt Brenda and uncle Morris both work at Harding so I got to see them too.  I have three cousins at Harding, Erica a senior and Brad and Cassidy both freshmen.  It was great to see them loving Harding as much as I did!

Harding is such a wonderful place for me.  It holds a special place in my heart.  Afterall, that’s where I met the man of my dreams!!  I also made friends that will last a lifetime.  I can’t wait for my kids to experience the same thing because they ARE going to Harding!!  No matter what!!!!! :)

Halloween and Preschool Parade November 8, 2007

This is a little late but here are pictures from Carter’s preschool costume parade and festival.  He had so much fun running around with Owen and Laini.  He kept holding Laini’s hand, too cute!!  We had a very funny thing happen at the festival.  Laureen (Owen’s mommy) took the boys to get in line for one of the moonwalks and she came back to me laughing histerically.  She said that Carter dropped his pants and started peeing right to the side of the line!!!  I almost fell on the ground because I was laughing so hard!!  He had to go so bad and knew that if he told me that he had to go then we would’ve had to leave the fun for a few minutes.  At least he didn’t go in his pants! :)   We had a great time but it was a little crazy with all the kids and parents running around!  His school is really big.  Carter loved seeing his friends all dressed up.

That night Brad took the kids out trick-or-treating.  They had a blast and loved sorting all the candy when they got home.  Brad said he could barely keep up with Carter because he was running door to door.  Our halloween was so much fun and the kids loved their costumes.
