This last week was one of the craziest and most fun weeks that we’ve had in a while. There were parties, Santa and a Christmas program.
On Monday night, I went to a ladies Ornament exchange and had so much fun. It was hillarious watching people take FOREVER to decide what ornament they wanted to steal. There were almost 40 women there so it took a while. Towards the end I was like “It’s an eight dollar ornament, not a life or death decision!!!” I’m the type of person who makes up her mind very quickly. Maybe that’s why I had a hard time dealing with customers who couldn’t make up there mind on a paint color or fabric!! You either like if or you don’t! Anyways, it was still a lot of fun even though I got a little impatient! :)
On Thursday, we had Carter’s Christmas program in the morning, a birthday party that afternoon and a young marrieds party that night. Brad and I had so much fun with our friends at the young marrieds party. We had tons of good food and played a fun game where we had to wrap a present with our spouse and could only use one arm. Brad and I did pretty good because I’m a wrapping expert!! HA! We were probably the most competitive team and were a little upset when we didn’t win!! We are such dorks!!
Here we are with Rocky and Ashley getting our competition on!! Theirs was the most creative by far, it looked like a peppermint!
On Friday morning, I hosted a children’s Christmas party for Carter and Cammie’s church friends. Guess who came to the party?? Santa Claus himself!! We have two Santa’s at Grace Chapel and we hired one for our party. He is the best Santa I’ve ever seen and I felt like the REAL Santa was at our house! He was wonderful with the kids. It was SOOOOOO much fun!!! He was at our house for a whole hour just talking with the kids and telling them stories. They all looked for their names on the good list and Carter found his.
All the moms took pictures and it saved everybody a long trip to the mall to see Santa. All the mom’s told me that I have to do this every year from now on! I’m planning on it! Here is a little slide show of the festivities:
Here are some videos from the Santa Party:
On Saturday night, we hosted part of the youth group progressive dinner. We had so much fun watching the kids be silly. It made us miss being that young. They exchanged used gifts. The funniest one was a dinosaur costume that Jackie ended up wearing. She looked hillarious! Carter also had to put on a show for everyone. He was cracking everyone up with his singing. Brad’s worried that he has a Cory Jr. on his hand. Carter and I like attention just a little bit!
Here’s a video of his little impromptu performance:
Sorry for such a long update! It was a long but exciting week! We are definately in the Christmas spirit after a week like that!! Here is a link to my web album with all the week’s pictures:
