The other night I was watching American Idol and saw something I couldn’t believe.  The finalists all sang “Shout to the Lord”.  It was SO awesome!!!  What an awesome song for America to hear!  This makes me love the show even more.  Be sure to watch the video!

Well, I think Spring is officially here.  Yesterday I wouldn’t have been able to say that, seeing as it was 50 degrees out.  Today turned out to be a beautiful day!  Sunny and 70!  We decided to spend some time playing with the kids outside.  Daddy, Carter and Cammie played hide and seek.  Carter could not find Brad even thought he kept popping his head out of the bushes! :)   Mommy and Carter had a few races.  Can you believe he beat me everytime??!!  I guess I slowed the pace down a little. :)   I have had a lot of practice running lately due to Boot Camp at the YMCA.  My back has started to act up again so I’m having to lay off the running for a while and stick to the aerobic type classes.  I was really getting into running, on Friday I ran the mile in 9:10 which is AMAZING for me!  I think the last time I ran a mile before this year was in Jr High!! HA!  Anyways, I guess I will stop so I won’t make it worse.

We had a great time with the kids.  Just one of many nights to come playing outside!  We are really looking forward to Brad’s parents (Ma and Pa) coming on Thursday.  The kids will have fun being spoiled!!  Here is the link to my web album with some pics.

HAPPY EASTER! March 23, 2008

Well, it’s been a while since I posted.  I’ve been pretty busy and just can’t make myself sit down to write anything.  I’m going to try and get back to posting more often.  Sorry!

This weekend was Easter and we had a wonderful time.  Brad’s sister Amy came in town for a visit.  The kids always love seeing her.  On Saturday, we had an egg hunt at the church building.  I think Cammie got more eggs than Carter.  The first egg Carter got had grass on it so he wasted some time cleaning it off.  My little OCD boy! :)   They had lots of fun with all the kids and they definitely crashed hard after their sugar high.  We took some good naps afterwards. :)

Easter Sunday was really nice.  We had a wonderful Easter service.  Our attendance was up about 150 people.  It’s always weird to me that people can feel comfortable just showing up at church for one Sunday of the year and never come back.   Maybe some will come back next week.  Anyways, the kids looked so cute in their Easter outfits.  We had an awesome lunch at Atkins Park afterwards with Gramps.  We missed Grammie because she’s in Europe.  Poor Grammie!!  When we got home, Carter told us that “We celebrate Easter because God rose from the dead!”.  Pretty close buddy!  What a wonderful day to celebrate our Lord rising from the grave!!  Our hope is built on Him!!  I hope that you had a blessed Easter Sunday.

Enjoy the pics in the web album link below.  There are lots from the past month that I haven’t posted.

Our Trip Downtown February 19, 2008

Last week we thought it would be fun to go downtown and meet up with Brad after work.  We picked him up and headed to the Children’s Museum.  The kids had a lot of fun and it worked out great because it was free day!  Carter loved all the train tables and Cammie just loved running around seeing other kids.  It was good we went on the free day because I didn’t think it was worth $10 a person!

After the museum, we went across the street to Centennial Olympic Park.  The kids played on a really cool playground and just ran around the park.  It’s right across from the Georgia Aquarium and World of Coca-Cola.  The weather couldn’t have been more perfect, Sunny and 65 degrees.

For dinner we headed over to Fellini’s pizza, an Atlanta favorite for 25 years.  Then on our way back home we saw the “HOT NOW” sign at the downtown Krispy Kreme and it beckoned us to stop.  We all had sprinkle doughnuts in the shape of a heart for Valentines day.  I think this was Cammie’s (and Brad’s) favorite stop of the night!

We had a great time seeing some of the sights of downtown Atlanta.  The lights of the city are so pretty at night!  Here is a link to my web album where you can see our pictures:

All-American Boy February 19, 2008

A couple weeks ago on Super Tuesday we were watching the primary results.  Carter asked “What are you watching?”.  We told him “We are watching who might be the next president of the United States of America.”.  After we said that, he started saying the Pledge of Allegiance.  I couldn’t believe that he knew the pledge!  He’s only three!!  I couldn’t even say it in Kindergarten!  Here is a video I took of him that night(sorry for the poor lighting):

Gladiators Ready!! February 13, 2008

For a while now, Carter has been really into his guns.  No, not the real ones, the bicep ones!  It all started when my dad, Gramps, showed him how to “flex his guns”.  Now he loves to show them off to everyone.  He is always asking if his dinner will make his guns grow really big.  I guess this is why he is loving the American Gladiators show.  He loves to watch them do the obstacle course.  It used to be one of my favorite shows when I was younger.  I used to stay up late Saturday nights to watch.   I doubt there’s much chance of Carter becoming a Gladiator but for now he thinks he is!

Our Little Romeo January 31, 2008

Yesterday Carter had his first date!  Well, it was actually a play-date but it was still a “date”!  His little girlfriend, Laini, from school had us over to her house for lunch yesterday.  It was an early release day so we thought it would be fun to hang out.  It was Pajama and Teddy Bear Parade day so they got to have a date in their PJ’s.  Carter and Laini have so much fun playing together.  Their teacher’s said that yesterday Carter got a funny little look on his face and then he gave Laini a kiss on the cheek.  I guess he was just working him self up for the kiss!  They said they are calling him “Little Romeo”!  Oh no!!  I’m hoping this isn’t a glimpse of the future!  If he’s anything like his dad was, we won’t have to worry too much! HA!

It’s funny how all the kids at this age talk about marrying each other.  They call each other princes and princesses.  Carter told me he was going to marry me and I would be the princess and he would be the kingdom.  I guess he meant the king! He has always been a bit of a smooth talker.  He’s always telling me that I’m beautiful and skinny (HA!) or that I smell good or he likes my jewelry.  He knows how to work a girl!! :)   It’s pretty obvious why I like having him around!  He’s a real esteem booster!!  But Soon he will think girls are gross and have cooties so for now it’s cute seeing him be the “romeo”.

Hoop Dreams! January 31, 2008

Last Friday night we went to a High School basketball game.  They were playing the 4th best team in the country so we thought it would be fun.  Also, Brad is really trying to brainwash Carter with as much basketball as possible.  I hate to say it, but I don’t think it’s sinking in!!  The entire game Carter either laid on the floor behind us or ran around in the open area with Cammie.  Brad tried to get him interested but he just wasn’t into it.  Maybe he’s still too young.  Cammie seemed more interested in the game.  She really liked the band.  We had a lot of fun eating candy and cheering for the team even though they lost!

Let’s Zumba!! January 22, 2008

Well, I’ve become obsessed with a new workout craze.  It’s called Zumba.  It is a dance aerobic tybe class that is latin inspired.  It also has some indian and hip-hop dance too  I have been going to the classes at the YMCA and it is a blast!!  Some of my friends and I started going a few weeks ago and I’m hooked.  I’ve never had so much fun working out!   A lot of the girls in the class wear coin skirts over their workout clothes to get the shaking sound effect.  There are all kinds of women in the class: young, old, coordinated and uncoordinated!

I just wanted to let you all know about Zumba because you might enjoy it!  Here is a video that the Today show had about Zumba.
